Another incredible WeAreDevelopers World Congress Europe has come to a close, and what an event it was!

This year's conference exceeded all our expectations. From the moment the exhibition hall opened until the last conversations on Friday afternoon, our booth was filled with developers, architects, CTOs, partners, and friends from across the industry. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to meet our team.

Record Breaking Booth Activity

We love bringing something special to every conference, and Berlin was no exception. This year, our TX Fuel concept was a big hit. Thousands of cans found new owners, helping attendees stay energized throughout the two-day conference.

Our famous sunglasses challenge also returned, and it was bigger than ever. Many attendees proudly wore their TX sunglasses around the venue, hoping our team would spot them randomly for a €50 prize. It was great to see so many people participate. Find below some pictures of the happy winners:

When the conference sessions ended, our booth once again became one of the liveliest places in the exhibition hall. During the Booth Crawl, visitors gathered for cold drinks, great conversations, and an unforgettable atmosphere near the live DJ area.

Software Origin Matters

Throughout the conference, one topic came up again and again: Where does your software actually come from?

For many organizations, especially those developing enterprise applications or operating in regulated industries, the origin of software has become a strategic consideration. Customers increasingly want to know where the intellectual property is created, where the development teams are located, who owns the source code, and how the software supply chain is managed.

As a company that has developed its core technology in Germany for decades - with our own engineering teams building the rendering engine, document processing pipeline, and editor technology in-house - these conversations were especially meaningful to us. Transparency, long-term stability, digital sovereignty, and trusted partnerships are becoming increasingly important factors in how companies evaluate the technologies on which they build their businesses.

At WeAreDevelopers, it was striking how often this topic surfaced naturally. Developers and technology leaders are looking beyond feature lists. They also want to understand who builds the software, where it is built, and if the vendor will be a reliable technology partner in the long term.

More Conversations Than Ever

Beyond the fun, WeAreDevelopers was exactly what conferences should be: a place to exchange ideas.

We demonstrated our document technologies to hundreds of developers and discussed topics including:

The quality of the discussions was outstanding. It is always inspiring to hear how development teams are modernizing document workflows and exploring new ways to build enterprise applications.

Software Components Still Matter in the Age of AI

Artificial intelligence was undoubtedly the dominant topic throughout the conference. Almost every conversation eventually touched on AI, whether the topic was code generation, intelligent assistants, or document automation.

At the same time, one thing became clear: AI does not replace specialized software components. AI depends on them.

AI can generate code, summarize documents, extract information, and automate workflows. However, when an application needs to accurately create, edit, render, convert, compare, validate, or digitally sign business documents, it relies on proven technologies that have been refined over many years. Enterprise applications require correctness, compatibility, performance, security, and predictable results. These are capabilities that cannot be easily generated by an AI model.

The discussion has shifted from building everything from scratch to combining AI with deep, specialized functionality. Developers are looking for reliable building blocks that allow AI to orchestrate higher-level workflows. Rather than replacing established technologies, AI makes them more valuable by expanding the capabilities of applications while relying on trusted engines to execute critical business tasks.

For us, this has reinforced an important belief: Innovation is not about replacing mature software components. It's about combining decades of engineering with the new possibilities that AI creates. The next generation of enterprise applications will be built on that foundation.
