Web.TextControl X12: Fully Programmable API
Web.TextControl X12 exposes a programmable API that manipulates document content via server-side ServerTextControl instances. The Selection object can be edited and sent back to the HTML5 editor, while merge field events allow custom UI components like TreeViews to insert fields.
The major improvement in the next iteration of the HTML5-based Web.TextControl editor is the available API that helps to manipulate the content programmatically. In combination with a server-side ServerTextControl instance, a Selection object can be edited and passed back the editor.
Additionally, several events are available to interact with merge fields. This allows the insertion and manipulation of merge fields using your own interface. The following animated screenshot shows a custom TreeView control to insert merge fields and reusable text blocks programmatically.
