Back from BASTA! 2010 - Some Impressions
Text Control recaps its week at BASTA! 2010 in Mainz, where the team distributed trial versions and previewed TX Text Control .NET for WPF. A session on converting DOCX to WPF FlowDocuments using the Office Open XML SDK highlighted the gaps that the new WPF component fills.

I have to say that it was a really great week at BASTA! 2010 in Mainz. I talked to so many TX Text Control users and interested developers. Thanks all for stopping by the TX Text Control booth.
We gave away hundreds of TX Text Control trial versions and 'TX' baseball hats and talked about our upcoming WPF version.
In my 75 minutes session on Tuesday, I talked about converting the DOCX format using the Office Open XML SDK 2.0 to a FlowDocument to render such documents in WPF and Silverlight applications.
The session and the discussion after it show that WPF offers a good base functionality to render text, but it is still not usable for a professional rendering and editing of MS Word documents. This gap is going to be filled by TX Text Control .NET for WPF soon.
