Sneak Peek: Table Improvements in TX Text Control 17.0
TX Text Control 17.0 brings major table improvements: column selection via mouse or keyboard, mid-table cell block selection, configurable colored borders for individual cells, and cell merging and splitting. A video demo shows these features running in an early alpha build.

As mentioned in a previous blog post, our developers are working hard on version 17.0 by implementing as many of the requested features from our users as possible. For this release we have drastically improved the user experience for tables. First, sit back, relax and enjoy the following short screen capture video that uses a very early alpha version of TX Text Control 17.0.
As you can see, we improved a lot of things:
- Column selection
Using the mouse or keyboard, you can select table columns with one click on the down arrow in the first table row. Or you can simply click and drag to select some cells.
- Select cellsin the middle of a table
It is no longer required to select the cells row-wise. Multiple cells can be selected in the middle of a table.
- Colored table borders
The color and width of every single border in each cell can be adjusted programmatically or using the built-in dialog box.
- Cell mergingand splitting (!)
Merge and split table cells and build professionally structured tables to represent your tabular data.
Did you notice the new selection color and style? This will be the new default selection color for all selections in TX Text Control.
Following our new strategy to be transparent regarding the features we are working on, we decided to present these improvements to you at a very early stage. This is just a very small part of the improvements and new features we are currently working on.
What do you think? Do you like what we have done so far?
