Unicode

Unicode is a character encoding standard developed by the Unicode Consortium. The standard aims to provide a universal way to encode characters of any language, regardless of the computer system or platform used.

The core of Unicode, known as the Basic Multilingual Plane, contains space for more than 65,000 characters. This includes around 49,000 characters from global languages, letters from alphabets, ideographs used in writing systems like Chinese, and other characters such as currency and mathematical signs.

In addition to these, space is available for custom use, and supplementary code points are available for characters used in languages such as Chinese, where the total number of characters is not quantifiable.

Thanks to TX Text Control .NET for WPF's Unicode support, applications can be developed in a very wide range of languages. More details on supported languages are available upon request.
