Content control adapter fields

Content control adapter fields

TX Text Control adds adapter fields for Word content controls. In Microsoft Word, Content Controls are controls that can be added and customized for use in documents and templates. These controls provide properties and settings that can be used to automate documents. The TXTextControl.DocumentServer.Fields namespace provides new field adapter classes for the following content controls:

  • RichTextContentControl
  • PlainTextContentControl
  • CheckBoxContentControl
  • ComboBoxContentControl
  • DateContentControl
  • DropDownContentControl

Online reporting template designer

Web.TextControl adds Mailings features for report templates. The new HTML5-based Web.TextControl component comes with the full set of Mailings features to create report templates. These MS Word-compatible templates are merged with data using the Text Control Reporting engine MailMerge as part of your ASP.NET Web application.

The out-of-the-box ribbon tab Mailings is designed to insert merge fields and merge blocks compatible with the reporting classes of TX Text Control. The drop-down buttons Select Master Table, Insert Merge Field, and Insert Merge Block are pre-filled with items of a specific Database Excerpt XML file that can be loaded programmatically.

Language detection supports over 30 languages and scopes. In combination with TX Spell .NET 5.0, TX Text Control .NET Server X11 supports language detection. Language scopes from a given string or complete document for more than 30 languages can be detected. The algorithm supports nested scopes such as bracketed text or bi-directional text in various, mixed languages.

In TX Text Control X11, language scopes can be defined using the Selection.Culture property. Based on the detected languages, proper dictionaries can be added to the dictionary collection or appropriate hyphenation lists can be loaded.

Save database excerpts

Database excerpts now include table definitions and relations. Database Excerpt XML files contain table definitions, relations, and row excerpts to provide a preview of the report. In TX Text Control X11, those XML excerpts can be created from existing database connections and used when the designer is deployed to template designers to insert the proper field names, merge blocks, and preview created templates.
