Ten Years of MD-DevDays: From Community Idea to One of Germany's Largest Developer Conferences
In 2016, the first MD-DevDays conference was held in Germany, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey. What started as a community-driven initiative has evolved into one of the largest developer conferences in the country.

Something special started in Magdeburg in 2016. MD-DevDays launched as a new, community-driven developer conference with around 270 attendees. Although it was small, it was built with a clear vision: A conference created by developers, for developers.
At Text Control, we immediately recognized the idea's potential, which is why we became sponsors from the first edition. Ten years later, we are proud to still be part of the journey and support the event again this year as a Platinum Sponsor.

Of course, conferences of this size are never the work of a single person. There is always a strong team working behind the scenes to make everything happen. However, every successful initiative usually has one driving force: Someone who pushes things forward with determination, convinces others to join in, and turns ideas into reality. In the case of MD-DevDays, that driving force is Michael Blume. We had known Michael long before MD-DevDays existed, and we were confident that, given his energy, motivation, and persistence, he would be able to build something great. That's exactly why we decided to support the conference from the beginning.
Michael Blume opening MD-DevDays in a fancy jacket and hover shoes perfectly sums up this conference. If you've ever wondered how much energy it takes to plan a sold-out developer conference for ten consecutive years, this picture gives you a good idea.

In hindsight, that confidence was well placed. Ten years later, MD-DevDays consistently sells out, attracting more than 750 attendees. These are the actual number of attendees per day, not cumulative counts across multiple conference days, which makes the scale even more impressive. MD-DevDays has grown to become one of the largest developer community conferences in Germany, easily competing with many professionally organized events. However, what makes MD-DevDays special is that, despite its growth, it has never lost its original spirit. The conference still feels like a community event where developers meet to learn, exchange ideas, and share their passion for technology.

Ticket sales for the next MD-DevDays have just started, and based on previous years' experience, tickets tend to sell out quickly. If you plan to attend, it's definitely a good idea to buy your ticket early because the event sells out every year.

As Platinum Sponsors, our team will, of course, be on site. At our booth, we will demonstrate how developers can use TX Text Control to build modern document processing solutions in .NET applications. These solutions include generating professional documents, such as contracts, invoices, and reports; integrating browser-based document editors into ASP.NET Core applications; automating document workflows; and producing standards-compliant PDFs, including PDF/A and PDF/UA. Reliable document generation and editing capabilities are essential for many enterprise applications, and events like MD-DevDays provide a valuable opportunity to demonstrate to developers how easily these technologies can be integrated into their own systems.
At MD-DevDays, we do more than present our products and talk to developers about technology and the business side of building software. After being part of this community for so many years, we also want to give back. That is why we are proud to sponsor the after-party, providing a space where everyone can unwind, socialize, and enjoy themselves after a full day of sessions and discussions.

It has been incredibly rewarding to watch MD-DevDays grow over the past decade. What began as a community initiative with 270 attendees has evolved into a sold-out conference with over 750 developers, drawing speakers and participants from Germany and beyond. This kind of success doesn't happen by accident. It happens when passionate people invest time and energy into building something meaningful for the community, which then responds in kind.
We are proud to have been part of this story since the beginning and look forward to seeing everyone again in Magdeburg.
See you at MD-DevDays!
