Installing IIS on Windows XP Professional

If you are running Windows XP Professional on your computer, you can install the included web server, Internet Information Server 5.1 (IIS) from the Windows XP Professional installation CD.

1. Place the Windows XP Professional CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.

2. Open the Control Panel and choose Add/Remove Windows Components found in Add/Remove Programs.

3. Check Internet Information Services (IIS) leaving all the default installation settings intact. This step is shown in the screenshot below.

4. Click Next and Finish to confirm the changes.
