Charlotte, United States (October 9, 2008) - The Microsoft Visual Studio industry partner, and software component vendor, The Imaging Source announces its activities in the PDF/A market. With the next version of the word processing component TX Text Control, PDF/A documents can be created or converted from the industry standard formats Office Open XML (DOCX), MS Word (DOC) and Rich Text Format (RTF).
The ISO 19005-1:2005 standard defines a format for long-term electronic archiving of documents. This standard is becoming more and more important due to legal provisions and uniform requirements. Additionally, it enables software companies to promote a supported standard to create PDF documents.
The software component, TX Text Control, enables developers to easily integrate PDF/A creation or conversion into their business applications. Validity and verifiability is very important when creating PDF documents. Using TX Text Control, developers can be sure they are creating valid PDF/A documents by using a widely spread, reusable software component.
The final version is announced for the first quarter of 2009.
Since its original release in 1991, more than 50,000 copies of TX Text Control have been sold. The .NET Server version of TX Text Control offers developers a solid tool set to create robust server side word processing applications. The .NET Windows Forms and WPF client versions offer all the features expected of a fully fledged word processing application in reusable component form. Customers benefit from these years of experience, large user-base, and at the same time, appreciate developing with a mature, reliable product.
