I just discussed the requirements of a medical transcription software with a customer. Medical transcription applications provide a special editor for fast typing transcriptionists, transcribing dictated medical results.

Typically, these dictations are stored on a central server in a compressed audio format, such as MP3. These files are downloaded and transcribed. The documents are stored back on the server automatically. These editors offer very special features for fast typing users. For example: AutoText.

A more simple requirement is the line numbering that must be visible while the user is typing. We made a simple example that shows how easy it is to render the line numbers on the page margin. The coordinates can be easily retrieved from the LineCollection.
